Gonzales is an experienced law enforcement officer who now serves to protect Waxahachie children. At Dunaway, he also oversees the school’s F.L.A.G. Program (Fly, Lower, And Gather), which teaches students how to properly raise and lower the American flag while encouraging responsibility and civic pride. The WoodmenLife Heart & Heritage Awards are given through local chapters and recognize quiet heroes, community leaders, civic organizations, educators, and schools that guide, inspire, and shape future generations. A few years ago, Texas required all public schools to have armed security. Gonzales is one of the officers filling that role in Waxahachie, and it is good to know that such people are responsible for our kids’ safety.
