10 Years Later, Missy Bevers Case Remains Unsolved
It’s been 10 years since the killing of Missy Bevers — a case that shocked Ellis County and still hasn’t been solved. As of today, April 18, 2026, investigators say the case remains active, and they’re still asking for the public’s help.
Bevers, a 45-year-old fitness instructor, was killed early in the morning on April 18, 2016, inside Creekside Church of Christ in Midlothian. She had arrived to lead a Camp Gladiator workout class when she was attacked.
Surveillance footage released by police showed a person dressed in tactical-style gear walking through the church before the murder. Despite years of investigation, that person has never been publicly identified.
The case quickly gained national attention due to the unusual video and the lack of clear suspects. Over the years, investigators have followed numerous leads, but no arrests have been made.
In a statement marking the 10-year anniversary, released by Ellis County & District Attorney’s Office, officials said they “continue to express our deepest condolences to Missy’s family and friends” and stressed that the case “has not been forgotten.”
They’re asking anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward and contact the Midlothian Police Department.
