SATURDAY PLANS: MidloFest Returns With Live Music, Food and Family Fun

MidloFest returns tomorrow, Saturday, April 25, bringing a full day of free live music, food vendors, shopping, wine tasting and family-friendly fun to Heritage Park in downtown Midlothian.
Hosted by the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce, the annual event runs from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Heritage Park, located at 234 N. 8th Street. Formerly known as the Wine & Arts Festival, MidloFest has grown into one of the area’s biggest family-friendly events, drawing visitors from across Ellis County and beyond. The festival features hundreds of artisan vendors offering handcrafted goods, artwork, boutique items and specialty foods. There will also be a Kids Zone with activities for children, interactive experiences throughout the event, and entertainment all day long. Adults can enjoy wine tasting featuring selections from Texas wineries while taking in the live music and community atmosphere. “MidloFest is more than a day on the calendar — it’s a reflection of the people who make Midlothian what it is,” organizers said in recent promotions for the event. To make getting there easier, free shuttle service will be available with pickup locations at the south end of Walmart and Frank Seale Middle School. Organizers are encouraging visitors to park, ride and avoid the downtown parking hassle. Festivalgoers can also upgrade their experience by purchasing a limited-edition MidloFest V.I.P. Tote filled with festival-day favorites, sponsor goodies and special surprises.
