Midlothian Mayor, New Councilmembers Sworn In

Midlothian’s City Council welcomed new and returning leadership during tonight’s meeting, as Mayor Justin Coffman began his second term and two new councilmembers officially took office.
Judge Greg Wilhelm delivered the oath of office to incoming Councilman Kasey Cheshier, who will serve Place 1, and Councilman Richard Reno, who will serve Place 2. Coffman, who was born and raised in Midlothian, is a 1998 graduate of Midlothian High School. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in professional studies from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie in 2009. He has served on the City Council since 2018 and was appointed mayor pro tem for three of his five years on council before being elected mayor in 2023. Coffman and his wife, Krystal, have been married since 2002 and have four children. Coffman and members of the council also thanked outgoing Councilmen Allen Moorman and Mike Rodgers for their service to the city.
