Sims Library Wins National Medal for Museum and Library Service

N. P. Sims Library in Waxahachie has received the National Medal for Museum and Library Service, one of the country’s highest honors for libraries and museums.
Library staff traveled to Washington, D.C., for a ceremony honoring this year’s recipients. Sims Library was one of only five libraries nationwide selected for the award after being nominated by Congressman Jake Ellzey. Sims Library has served Waxahachie for 121 years. Library officials said the award reflects the continued support of the City of Waxahachie, community partners, patrons and generations of library employees. The National Medal is presented by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
