60 Years of Czech Heritage and Polka Tradition
The National Polka Festival returns to Ennis, Texas, Friday through Sunday, May 22–24, 2026, for a Memorial Day Weekend celebration filled with Czech heritage, music, dancing, food, traditions, and family-friendly fun.
The festival kicks off Friday evening with an opening dance featuring live polka music and the King & Queen Dance Contest. Participants and guests are encouraged to wear traditional Czech kroj and help showcase the colorful traditions of Czech culture.
Saturday morning begins with decorated floats, marching bands, and vibrant costumes during the annual parade through historic downtown Ennis. The celebration continues Saturday and Sunday with "a little bit of the Czech Lands" through traditions, religious customs, dancing, food, sights, and sounds at KJT, Sokol, SPJST, and throughout downtown Ennis.
This special 60th anniversary weekend features 14 live polka bands, including Grammy Award-winning Brave Combo, plus a Saturday night country concert with William Clark Green.
