Waxahachie Water and Wastewater Rates Going Up Oct. 1
Waxahachie residents will see a small increase on their water bills starting next month.
On Sept. 15, 2025, the City Council approved a 4% rate hike for water and wastewater services. The change takes effect Oct. 1 and will first appear on November bills.
City officials noted the fees are part of a restricted fund, meaning they can only be used for water and wastewater operations — things like repairs, system expansion, and staff needed to provide the service.
Here’s how the new rates will look on a typical bill (water, wastewater, and garbage combined):
— Minimum bill (0–1,500 gallons): $65.92, up from $63.92
— 5,000 gallons: $104.88, up from $101.38
— 11,000 gallons: $172.60, up from $166.48
The city says the adjustment is necessary to keep pace with rising costs and to continue maintaining and expanding the system as Waxahachie grows.
