Waxahachie Celebrates Independence Day With Fireworks, Festival Fun

Waxahachie started the Independence Day weekend Friday night with the Crape Myrtle Festival, ending the evening with a community fireworks at the Waxahachie Sports Complex.
On Saturday, the celebration continues across town. The Veterans Breakfast begins at in the morning at Getzendaner Park, followed by the 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m. in downtown Waxahachie. Later, The Cowboy Church of Ellis County will host a free 4th of July Rodeo. Lunch begins at noon, and the rodeo starts at 1 p.m. The event will also include water slides, food, live music and family fun.
