Maypearl Police Learned of Warrant Operation From Resident
Frisco police served a search warrant early this morning on Chambers Creek Circle in Maypearl, according to a statement from the Maypearl Police Department.
The warrant was connected to an investigation in the city of Frisco. Maypearl police said the search warrant was completed without incident, no arrests were made, and there is no ongoing threat to the public related to the operation.
The warrant itself appears to be legitimate. Police investigations can cross city lines, and search warrants are handled through the court system.
But the lack of communication with Maypearl police is concerning.
According to Maypearl PD, the department was not notified before the warrant was served. The department said it only became aware of the operation after a concerned resident contacted the police chief.
After receiving that information, the chief contacted both the Frisco Police Department and the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office to confirm the nature of the operation and make sure there were no additional public safety concerns requiring a Maypearl police response.
That communication gap matters. When a major law enforcement presence shows up in a small community and the local police department does not have advance notice, it can leave residents with questions.
Maypearl police said they understand that seeing a large law enforcement presence can be concerning and thanked residents who reached out.
No additional details about the Frisco investigation were released in the statement.
